Born and raised in Seattle, Hilary went on to earn her BFA at CalArts and pursue further training at London Contemporary, Delfos Danza Mexico, ImPulsTanz, Bates Dance Festival, ADF, Earthdance, CAMP_iN, and Cornish College. Performances include the works of the Ballet Nacional de Cuba, Andre Tyson, Parkour Vienna, Kate Wallich, Stephanie Nugent, Rosemary Lee, Stephanie Liapis, Omar Carrum, Claudia Lavista, et al. Pivotal mentors include Barak Marshall, Colin Connor (AD of José Limón), Glen Eddy (NDT), Danielle Agami (Batsheva/Ate9), Omar Carrum (Piso Movil/Continuum), David Zambrano (Flying-Low), Cynthia Young (ABT), Jorge Crecis (Spanish Floorwork), Laura Peterson, Maggie Nelson, and Anthony McCann. Her films have appeared at the International Film Festival of Buenos Aires, DVDanzaHabana Cuba, Wave Books events, & NW Film Forum. Hilary now works for a human rights foundation funding grassroots womxn and indigenous people-lead organizations and uprisings for systemic change. She also co-directs undercurrent, a Seattle-based movement project invested in the creation and curation of immersive pop-up performances as well as deepening movement exploration by offering all abilities community classes, professional-level floorwork training, private sessions, and more. This is Hilary's 3rd year with DCD.
